April 21-May 7

We attended the National Hardware and Lawn & Garden Convention at the Las Vegas Convention Center the past two days. This convention is huge and we walked miles to see all the exhibits and merchandise. It is really interesting and you can get some good ideas on landscaping, building, and gardening. Popular Mechanics magazine sponsored a section where products "just invented" were on display. Companies from Asia, India, Germany and all over the world were represented at this convention. The best part is it was FREE. We signed up on the internet and received our exhibit hall badges when we arrived at the convention. If you lived in Las Vegas, you could take advantage of all the conventions in town by getting free exhibit passes.

We have been eating lunch at our condo and trying different casion buffets in the evening for dinner. We also like to split a "Belly Bender" at the Eldorado Casiono in Henderson. This is a huge hamburger with french fries for $4.49. It's a real deal! They also make good onion rings. Both Doug and I are working on losing weight, but while in LV, we have been enjoying the food, both healthy food and not so healthy food. Hopefully, we'll get back in shape when we return to Beulaville, especially eating all the great, fresh vegetables and fruit available at the Farmer's Market in Wallace.

The weather has been beautiful here, not too hot, yet. Sunny and blue skies most every day. And, dry, not humid air. The dry air requires using more body lotion to keep your skin from looking like an alligator, but it is a small price to pay for being in the beautiful surroundings of the mountains and dessert surrounding LV.
